I like Glass!

Glass is realy not to hard to make and put together in Blender3D. Check out this art work in its early stage. I was trying to create a glass dinner wine glass. I used the wood texture to help preview my work, its not anything near the final deal. Just thought that people would like to see what I do with the little time that I do have.

New Idea's!

I was looking around at others pics done in blender and this one guy gave me an idea from his pics. He was trying to make photo like shots of jewlery. Once I saw his work my mind instantly began coming up with new idea's for me to try. The one of the many(which I won't list.) which realy stuck to me, was to build new reformed jewlery. Basicly jewlery that had never been seen before. Heck! I had never seen it before, except in my head. The pic at the top-right is my first try at the new jewlery creation. Please note that I was trying to make eye-candy, not something photo-realistic! There is a diffrence, so don't mix them up or think that realistic is eye-candy.

The one above is a little small, try clicking on the link to take you to a larger version. (ring_00_03_final.jpg) Dang! there are still more details to the ring that you don't see. I'll have to show you some explicit close-up shots of the ring some other time when sleep is not heavy on my mind.

Take care and everyone keep in touch! That goes strongly for you fellow blenderheads.

What is Gimp?

Many of you may aready know what Gimp is. If you do then I don't think that you need to read futher becuase this post is desinged for those who don't. For you who don't know what gimp is its a open image editing software. Meaning that its free to use, its profesional, and it does a good job of image editing jobs.

If you want to take a glace at it you will find it at, "http://www.wingimp.org" or if you want to get strait down to downloading it go here "http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/"

And for you that wan't it and is also needing help to get it. I have place this link to take you strait to the download. Please not that this first link is not the gimp download, but is a donwload of a gtk enviroment instaler. Your probly thinking, "What do i need that for?". Well to tell you the truth, it has things that gimp needs in order to run. So get both and install the gtk enviroments first befor you install gimp. Please also note that if your download doesn't start shortly after you get to the download page, then you need to click on a new mirror below.

1. install this first! (gtk enviromet install download)
2. then install gimp (gimp install download)

Just to let you know, I'm not realy wanting to spend much time teaching you how to work the software. Unless for very important reasons. Just too much time to teach that stuff, and I don't have much time to spare. If you need help there is the is help on the .org site and there is also the awsome power of the google search. If you can find help ur self, then your a much better cadet. I had to do that! Now because of it I'm able to substain my self and learn real fast.

Did I mention that gimp goes well as a partner to blender? Well it does! And with its pro like sevice, you can make real good textures and image edit's. An old saying say's, "The better the texture, the better looking the product!". Its true! After all we are simulating objects that bounce back light in the real world. And texture is all about simulating bouncing light. Did you know that with texture you can tell what color is, what the smooth-ness or roughn-ess of a surface is, what the material is made of, and\or many other things. As you can see, tex is important when building object that simulate objects that don't exist for the eye to see.

Well! I hope that I was of some help. Enjoy your adventures with gimp.
